Character: The name itself says how sweet she is. Mila is a Pulin mix, which can be seen not only in her physical traits but also in her intelligence and quick learning. She is playful and always cheerful, as if every day were the best one for her. Sometimes she makes us laugh with the way she seeks attention—nudging us with her nose, lifting her paw, and standing there as if to say: “Hey, look at me! Choose me!” Mila is always ready for action! If you live an active life, enjoy walks or hikes, she will be the perfect companion for your adventures. She wants to play with all dogs, regardless of their size or breed. She is very good-natured. As soon as she sees another dog, she immediately invites them to play. Mila is brave, confident, and will do everything she can to be noticed.
Story: When Mila was just a few months old, she was abandoned near a large steel factory. She spent many months there, at the mercy of the people passing by. Some gave her food and affection, while others chased her away and even kicked her. A wonderful young woman from a nearby shop looked after her, giving her food and the basics she needed to survive, along with kindness.
That industrial area was full of stray male dogs, and since Mila was no longer a puppy but already mature, the girl contacted other animal rescue activists in Smederevo to raise funds for her sterilization. Our association then decided to sterilize and vaccinate Mila immediately. She also received a sponsor who covered all her care expenses. After her sterilization, sending her back to the streets was not an option for us. We arranged a place for her at a boarding facility, hoping someone would soon inquire about her.
Unfortunately, being a black dog means waiting the longest for adoption. We sincerely hope Mila will finally find people who will love her and cuddle her. She has been through a lot in the past year and a half, but her life is still ahead of her!
